HIT - Hidden Information Technology
HIT research project develops technologies for
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The
work includes tools and methods for WSN design and utilisation. HIT
project targets at fully autonomous, unconditionally reliable hidden
WSN that supports different operational environments and applications.
The project contains the following major topics
- Development of the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies.
The technologies for WSNs contain full scale protocols and protocol
stacks, as well as single algorithms, algorithm optimisations, and
implementation architectures.
- Developing and experimenting with selected application concepts
that define the requirements for the research
- Developing architectures, platforms, and application for
prototyping. Prototypes are used for evaluation, verification, further
development, and results dissemination
- Evaluation of standard technologies in the field of ad-hoc
networks and WSNs
- Disseminating of the research results. Dissemination is carried
out by public and project/ partner specific seminars, technical
meetings, demonstrations, scientific publications, and thesis work.
The project is supported by
TEKES (Technology
Development
Centre of Finland) and by several companies.
